Noise and vibration from construction activity has the potential to significantly disturb nearby occupants, from the largest to the smallest sites of sites.
It is becoming common for Local Authorities to request an assessment of the noise and vibration impact of the construction phase of a development, either as part of a wider construction management plan or a separate document. ACA Acoustics are experienced in undertaking assessments in accordance with British Standards BS 5228 and BS 6472 to determine the impact of proposed construction activities and, where necessary, to determine appropriate noise and vibration control schemes.
For particularly sensitive sites, the construction noise management plan or party wall agreements may require ongoing noise and/or vibration monitoring to be carried out. ACA Acoustics use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment with remote 3G access, allowing results to be viewed real-time online, email or text alerts sent automatically to pre-agreed recipients when appropriate limits are exceeded, and even to listen to the audio real time.
