Noise from commercial and retail businesses encompasses a large variety of sources. From bars and night clubs, air conditioning and ventilation serving offices or retail shops, delivery and servicing, to drive-thru lanes associated with coffee shops and takeaway restaurants, many commercial developments will require an acoustic assessment at the planning stage.
Some commercial properties are also noise-sensitive, such as offices, and the internal acoustic conditions must be considered at an early stage of the design to ensure that these are fit-for-purpose. This could include external noise intrusion through the façade, reverberation time (echo) within large open plan offices, control of noise from building services equipment, or sound insulation between meeting rooms.
ACA Acoustics are highly experienced in undertaking noise and vibration assessments for all manner of commercial and retail developments. We will undertake the necessary noise surveys and assessments to support your planning application, provide detailed design advice as the project progresses including for BREEAM if necessary, and carry out commissioning noise and vibration tests once construction is complete. We can also investigate complaints on existing properties and provide recommendation for suitable mitigation measures.
